• The increase in defense spending will go from 1.4% to 2% of GDP, in line with the commitment made in 2014.
• Russia's aggressive policy and the weakening of ties with the US has forced Spain to increase its contribution to European defense.
• This investment is intended to improve the working conditions of the troops, develop telecommunications, acquire defense equipment and strengthen the security of missions abroad.

Conclusion: Despite the need for these resources for national and European defense, it is problematic that such important decisions do not have the approval of Parliament.
